In sync with the United Nations Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, Oman moves forward with confidence and determination to stretch the boundaries in economic growth and sustainable development. With unwavering commitment to excellence and readiness to face future challenges, partnerships spanning across major sectors are positively impacting sustainable development in Oman.
Under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Oman has committed to reaching Net Zero Emissions by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement’s objectives of limiting global warming to 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels. Oman Sustainability Week is aligned with Oman’s commitment to achieving Net Zero CO2 emissions by 2050 and building an economy reaching net zero emissions in advance of others. This scenario also meets key energy-related United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular by achieving universal energy access by 2030 and major improvements in air quality.
