Dr. Azzan Hamed Al‑Yaarubi is the SLB New Energy Technical Director, leading initiatives in industrial decarbonization, renewable energy and energy efficiency, and critical minerals across KSA and Oman.
He joined SLB in 2007 and has since held a range of senior technical and leadership roles across the organization. Prior to his current position, he served as OFS Technical Manager in Oman and, from 2010 to 2019, as a Principal Petrophysicist and domain champion, specializing in subsurface characterization.
Before joining SLB, Dr. Al‑Yaarubi worked with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) from 2003 to 2007, where he gained extensive experience in upstream operations and reservoir characterization.
He holds a Master of Physics (MPhys) from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) and earned a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London in 2003.
