Since its launch in the 1990s, AP-30 series of smelting technology has rapidly spread to become the preferred choice in the aluminium industry. Its high amperage is by far unmatched, making it the most productive cell in the industry. Sohar Aluminium is the most recent addition to the AP30 family of smelters and as the newest addition it is equipped with the latest technology in the series AP36. The Sohar Aluminium smelter has the capacity to produce 395,000 metric tonnes of finished product every year, or nearly 3 tonnes per pot per day.
