Vitthal Sawant brings extensive expertise in research and development and currently serves as Director of R&D and Innovation for Oman Cables and the MEART Region at Prysmian Group. With over 21 years of experience across diverse industries—including the past 12 years in the cable sector—Vitthal has a proven track record in driving innovation, advancing technology, and managing intellectual property.
Prior to joining Oman Cables, Vitthal spent six years with General Cable USA. His responsibilities include designing advanced cable solutions, developing innovative technologies to meet customer needs, and overseeing state-of-the-art cable testing facilities. He is also actively involved in the company’s sustainability initiatives.
As an inventor, Vitthal holds 11 patents for breakthrough technologies. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Polymer Technology from IIT Delhi, one of India’s premier institutions. In addition, he has presented numerous technical papers and served as an invited speaker at several international conferences.
