The countdown has begun for Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) 2026, which will be held from 18–20 May 2026 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC), Muscat, alongside the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES). Endorsed by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and organised by CONNECT, OSW has grown into the Sultanate’s flagship platform for advancing sustainable development, energy transition, and climate action in alignment with Oman Vision 2040 and the national commitment to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050.
OSW 2026 will convene senior government representatives, global corporations, innovators, investors, and sustainability leaders to accelerate solutions for a low-carbon economy. The event features exhibitions, forums, technical sessions, and dedicated knowledge platforms that encourage collaboration, showcase innovation, and highlight best practices in sustainability. As Oman embeds green growth at the centre of its economic diversification strategy, OSW has become the premier venue to measure progress and define future pathways.
The momentum leading into 2026 is already tangible. In 2025, renewables contributed nearly 12 percent of the nation’s electricity production in just the first five months, more than double the share recorded in the same period in 2024. This rapid increase highlights Oman’s successful delivery of large-scale solar and wind projects, while its ambitious green hydrogen programme, driven by Hydrom and international consortiums, is positioning the country as a future global exporter of clean fuels. Alongside renewable energy, Oman is advancing circular economy solutions, water stewardship, sustainable construction practices, and innovative waste management initiatives, demonstrating a holistic commitment to environmental responsibility.
Central to OSW 2026 will be high-level forums such as the International Sustainability Resources and Technology Conference (ISRTC), the Hydrogen & Utilities Talks, and the OSW Talks series. These platforms will provide valuable opportunities for thought leaders to address critical topics ranging from carbon capture and hydrogen scalability to climate adaptation, sustainable finance, and advanced clean technologies. Beyond dialogue, the event serves as a stage for organisations to present tangible contributions to Oman’s sustainability agenda, including ESG practices, renewable innovations, and next-generation environmental solutions.
With less than a year to go, OSW 2026 is set to play a defining role in Oman’s journey toward a net-zero future. The event will unite global stakeholders in a shared mission to balance economic growth with environmental stewardship, positioning the Sultanate as a leading regional hub for sustainability and energy transition.
