Oman's latest economic indicators signal continued expansion, with GDP reaching OMR 19.54 billion in the first half of 2026, representing 3.8% growth, according to the Ministry of Economy's October 2026 Economics Brief.
The energy sector remained a major contributor, as oil activities increased 9.7% to OMR 6.45 billion. Meanwhile, non-oil activities grew 1.3% to OMR 13.92 billion, reflecting progress towards a more diversified economy.
Investment and trade indicators also showed gains. Foreign direct investment stock reached OMR 32.21 billion, up 6.4%, while non-oil exports increased 10.5% to OMR 4.88 billion. Despite these improvements, foreign investment inflows declined during the reporting period.
Together, these developments reflect Oman's efforts to sustain economic growth and advance diversification under Oman Vision 2040.
